Cont Simon Forgách (1669-1729), general of Franciscus II Rákóczi, joined the duke in the Ottoman Empire in 1717. He also settled in Tekirdağ in April 1721. However, he left the Turkish city in 1722 after having conflicts with Miklós Bercsényi, and went to Poland. His tomb is in Visnovec (Wisniowec), currently Ukraine, in the former Carmelite cloister. Simon Forgách stayed at 13 Macar Sokak while staying in Tekirdağ – the building is almost completely in ruins these days.
