As the Hungarian Embassy in Ankara moved to a new building in the late ’90s, one of the streets neighbouring the new place was named after Lajos Kossuth during the 2002 official visit of Ferenc Mádl, President of Hungary. There was a Kossuth memorial plaque placed on the fence of the embassy as well, at the entrance of the street, currently being the venue of 15th March memorial events for Hungarians in Ankara.
