In the 1930s the city of Boyabat in the Black Sea-region Sinop province had a lack of water. Hungarian engineer Albert Ajtai Kovách solved the problem by giving advices on where to drill a well. Other than terminating the water-problem, the Hungarian engineer also initiated the partial electricity supply of the city. Ajtai passed away during his stay in Boyabat, his grave is in the cemetery of the city. The Hungarian well was inaugurated in his memory at the place he found water on 23rd October 2020.
